They’re heavier than aluminium, so very wide windows may need splitting or ladder-tape support, and they’re best kept out of high-steam rooms — a quality lacquer handles normal humidity, not a shower recess.

Rooms with hour-by-hour sun swings — an east-facing breakfast nook, a west-facing study, anywhere the light changes character through the day — get more genuine use out of a venetian’s tilt control than out of a blind that’s simply up or down.
